Description
Sam Toft’s narrative paintings are quirky, fun and beautifully composed. Born in June 1964 Sam’s earliest ambition amongst others was to work in a post office; luckily for art lovers, after inspired tutelage at Liverpool Community College, Sam decided to “give it a go” with her pictures.
Sam works in a range of media including pencil, oil pastels and coloured inks, using a range of techniques including scraffito, ink washes and her own fingers and thumbs technique.
Her collection of quirky, fun and beautifully composed limited edition prints features Sam’s now infamous characters, “The Mustards”: Ernest Hemingway Mustard, his dear lady wife Violet and a host of eccentric animals.
